The English Standard Version of the Bible is a word-for-word translation that is helpful when diving into a deep study of Scripture. This is the translation we use at Stone by Stone Studies and recommend it for anyone using the Inductive Method. The ESV Bible can be purchased at most bookstores as well as on Amazon. We have linked the image to the right to many types and formats of the ESV Bible from Christianbook.com.

Color coding (highlighting, marking, underlining) with colored pencils is a large part of the Inductive Study Method. We suggest using Twistables Colored Pencils because they have a softer point which won't tear your pages, they don't leak through, and they twist instead of needing to be sharpened. Twistables come in 12, 18, 24, 30+ counts and are available at office supply stores, Walmart, Target, and Amazon. We have linked the image to the 18 ct. at Target for 5.99.

Below are a couple of books we recommend to guide you into inductively studying Scripture:

The Epic of Eden

By Sandra Richter
